JOHN ANDREWS (1688 – 1741/5), son of Captain Joseph Andrews and Sarah Perley

PATIENCE ANDREWS (b. 1689), daughter of Thomas Andrews and Rebecca Unknown

John Andrews, the son of Joseph, was baptized on 16 September 1688 in Topsfield. [1] He died between 2 April 1741, when he wrote his will and 25 March 1745, when it was proved. [2]

Patience Andrews, was probably the unnamed daughter of Thomas and Rebecca who was born on 29 March 1690/1 in Boxford. [4] Patience, the daughter of Thomas, was baptized on 6 April 1690 in Topsfield. [1]

John Andrews, yeoman of Boxford, made his will on 2 April 1741. He noted that he had already left his son Thomas land valued at 800 pounds and left him one-third of his livestock. He left his son Nathaniel all of his land and buildings in Boxford and his salt marsh in Ipswich. He noted that he had left his daughter Hannah Foster 100 pounds and left her five more in household goods after his wife's decease. He left his daughters Mary and Abigail each 100 pounds, half when they married or at age 21 and half three years later, as well as five pounds worth of household goods. i. Hannah Andrews was born on 28 April 1715 in Boxford. [4] She married Moses Foster of Arundell, York county on 10 March 1736 at Ipswich. [5]

ii. Thomas Andrews was born on 4 September 1717 in Boxford. [4]

iii. Mary Andrews was born on 25 March 1717 in Boxford. [4] She died young.

iv. Captain Nathaniel Andrews was born on 24 April 1722 in Boxford. [4] He died on 4 February 1762. [2] He married first Mary Higginsonn. [2] She was born on 19 September 1729 and died on 3 October 1747. [2] He married second the widow Abigail Peele of Salem on 20 May 1748. [2] She was living in 1773. [2]

Captain Nathaniel was a mariner until 1740, when he became a merchant in Salem. [2]

v. Mary Andrews was born on 26 April 1725 in Boxford. She died by 1776. She married Elisha Cummings.

vi. Samuel Andrews was baptized on 28 May 1727 in Boxford. [4]

vii. Abigail Andrews was born on 29 November 1727 in Boxford. [4]

viii. Rachel Andrews was baptized on 23 March 1739/40 in Boxford. [4]
